Welcome

This website provides, for purposes of Lithuanian genealogy, detailed information about the archived and online 1755-1920 birth, marriage and death registers of the Roman Catholic (RC) parish in Tverečius, Lithuania.

The material on this website should be very helpful to persons of Lithuanian descent who are searching for records of ancestors who once lived in Tverečius parish.  This material should also be quite interesting and helpful to anyone searching for ancestors' records in the online historical records of any RC parish in Lithuania because they will find useful information about typical records and record-keeping practices of RC parishes in Lithuania, and the typical methods for recording and translating the register entries.

2001 Book Tverečiaus Kraštas [Tverecius Area]

(500-Year Anniversary Book of Tverečius RC Parish)

Some of the material has been transferred from my other website LithuanianCatholicAncestorSearch.com. I decided that I had such extensive information about the records of this one parish that it might be of help to others if it were put on its own website.

    About links on this website.

    • links colored blue take you to other pages within this website and open in the same window.
    • links colored red are links to other websites and open in new windows.
    • links colored red that include the term "(GDocs)" will take you to a document on the Google Docs website.

Because of the difficulty of constructing and maintaining tables on a website, and of various other problems, I have found that it was / is much easier to prepare the material in a separate document (usually Microsoft Word) and then to provide a link to it on Google Docs.  Therefore, you will find many such links on this site.
